Since 1970
Established on 8 December 1970, the CCFA shapes the economic and commercial relations between France and the twenty-two member states of the Arab League.
The CCFA is built on a strictly equal, joint institutional basis, the source of both its distinctiveness and its strength, through its partnership with the economic organisations of the Arab countries. It operates under French law and is governed by the 1901 Associations Act.
Governance
In accordance with the Chamber's statutes, the President is a French national, while the Secretary General, who heads the Chamber's executive, is a national of an Arab country. The members of the Board of Directors are elected on an equal basis by the Ordinary General Assembly.
Purpose
Founded in 1970 as an association governed by the 1901 Act and by the Act of 12 November 1956 regulating use of the term "Chamber of Commerce," the French-Arab Chamber of Commerce is a joint, equally represented consular assembly. Its purpose is to foster and develop commercial relations and cooperation in industry, finance, tourism, and agriculture between French and Arab economic operators.
