French nuclear industry: collaborations in the MENA region

Arab Countries 23/02/2022

On Wednesday 23 February, in the salons of the Maison des Polytechniciens (Paris 7th), nearly 70 participants were welcomed by President Vincent Reina and the Secretary-General of the CCFA, Abdulhakeem Al Kalifah, notably in the presence of the Ambassador and Head of Mission of the Arab League in Paris, on the occasion of a presentation of the French nuclear industry, its organisation, and a remarkable example of collaboration in the MENA region with the United Arab Emirates. Mr Hervé Maillart, Permanent Delegate of the French Nuclear Industry (CSFN) to the National Industry Council, was the speaker at this meeting, whose report will appear in the CCFA’s forthcoming end-of-February Newsletter, and which brought together in particular many representatives of Arab Embassies in Paris, as well as large groups and SMEs.
The French nuclear industry brings together all the French industrial players involved in nuclear energy production across the full range of its activities: the complete fuel cycle, R&D, engineering and design, construction, operation, waste management and decommissioning. France’s third-largest industrial sector, with 220,000 jobs and 3,200 companies — 85% of them SMEs — it is also expanding internationally.
