On 10 and 11 December 2025, the Franco-Arab Chamber of Commerce, together with its French and Arab partners, held the sixth edition of its France–Arab Countries Economic Summit.
More than 500 registrants — French and Arab companies and institutions — came together to reflect on and share their views on the challenges, but also the solutions, around the theme of Water.
Many speakers took the floor to address this subject of water and the environment, at the heart of the needs, crises and opportunities across the Arab world.
On this theme, the contributions of numerous Ambassadors — from Djibouti, Morocco, Jordan and Iraq — as well as the Lebanese Minister of the Environment and the French inter-ministerial delegate Ambassador for the Mediterranean, were particularly appreciated.
The highlight was the address by Mr Antoine Frérot, Chairman of the Veolia group, who set out a forward-looking vision grounded in technological progress and innovation, but also in human resources, with genuine optimism.
The address by the Deputy Secretary-General of the League of Arab States was another key moment.
Incursions into the Francophone world with the Honorary President of the Alliance of Francophone Employers, the presence of the President of the Movement of the Enterprises of France (MEDEF), and the address by the President of the Republic’s special envoy for the IMEC corridor helped broaden the debate.
The closing session — delivered by the new President of the CCFA, the new French envoy for economic and reconstruction affairs in the Middle East, and the Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Attractiveness — was a final, particularly strong moment.
In his address, Mr Nicolas Forissier expressed the wish, rightly, that this sixth Summit — placed for the third consecutive time under the high patronage of the President of the Republic — should mark not an end point but a starting point, for a renewed Franco-Arab partnership.
You will find the speakers, photos and recordings of these two mornings in the forthcoming CCFA Newsletter and on our website.
