The Franco-Arab Chamber of Commerce, chaired by Mr Vincent Reina, organised on 12 December the fifth edition of its France–Arab Countries Economic Summit. Placed under the high patronage of the President of the Republic, Mr Emmanuel Macron, this Summit worked on the ways and means of increasing France’s presence in the countries of the North Africa–Middle East region.
With the partnership of the CPME and the Union of Arab Chambers, and the participation of Business France, MEDEF International and CCI France, the 2024 edition brought together nearly 400 French and Arab participants.
Numerous Ambassadors of France (Tunisia, Oman) and of Arab countries posted in Paris (Morocco, Tunisia, Iraq, Mauritania, Oman, Yemen, Saudi Arabia…) spoke to present the dynamics of their countries and the ways in which French companies can take advantage of them to position themselves.
The French companies that partner with the CCFA testified to their strategies and their determination to strengthen their presence: Veolia, Transdev, NGE, Meanings Capital Partners.
The French public authorities, through the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, for their part presented their orientations on the region through the voices of the ANMO Director, Ms Anne Grillo, and the Director of Economic Diplomacy, Mr Ludovic Pouille.
Saudi Arabia, through its Vice-Minister for Investment, Mr Aldubaikhi, but also Morocco, with the Director-General of the Mohammed VI Investment Fund, Mr Mohamed Benchaaboun, and the Comoros, through a message from its President, Mr Assoumani, were able to highlight the conditions and developments of their business environment.
As guest of honour, Mr Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies, not only recalled the historic link between his group and the Arab countries, but also shared his vision of the future of many Arab countries which, beyond oil and gas, are also committed to the path of energy diversification.
